Biography

Abiel Garcia is a Partner at Kesselman Brantly Stockinger LLP, with deep experience in antitrust law and complex litigation. Prior to joining KBS, he practiced at Gibson Dunn in the Antitrust & Competition and White Collar groups, and began his career at the California Department of Justice as an Honors Attorney and Deputy Attorney General.

Abiel has represented plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes matters involving antitrust, unfair competition, business torts, breach of contract, and class actions. His litigation work spans industries including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, technology, and energy. He also advises corporations on antitrust compliance, merger clearance, and cross-border investigations across Latin America and the Caribbean.

With over a decade of experience in e-discovery, Abiel has led large-scale discovery operations for Fortune 500s, universities, nonprofits, and startups — leveraging AI tools and multi-team workflows to manage multi-million document projects in both state and federal courts.

Abiel is a former member of, and currently serves as an advisor to, the Executive Committee of the California State Bar’s Antitrust and Unfair Competition Section, and is a member of the LA County Bar’s Antitrust Section. He is a contributing editor to the state’s leading antitrust treatise and has been recognized as a “Best Lawyers: One to Watch” in Antitrust and Healthcare Law since 2024.

A frequent commentator on major antitrust issues, Abiel has been featured in outlets including CNBC, Reuters, Bloomberg, MarketWatch, and the LA Daily Journal. He holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and a B.A. in Economics from Occidental College.

In addition to his practice, Abiel is committed to pro bono immigration work, with a focus on asylum and impact litigation rooted in family separation cases.
