Manhattan Beach, Calif. - Kesselman Brantly Stockinger LLP (KBS), an antitrust and business litigation firm, announces the addition of S.V. Stuart Johnson, as Partner and Head of the Commercial Real Estate and Partnership Matters Practice Group. Associate Ryan Davis and Legal Assistant Brittney Igor also join the firm with Johnson. KBS represents companies and individuals in complex business disputes, including antitrust and unfair competition litigation, competition counseling and trademark and copyright litigation.

"Stuart's extensive experience in commercial real estate and partnerships allows KBS to expand its existing capabilities," said Partner and Founder, David W. Kesselman. "His team not only enhances our practice so that it now encompasses real estate litigation and transactional matters, but also heightens our reputation as a full-service business litigation firm in California and nationally."

"Brittney, Ryan and I are thrilled to join KBS' sophisticated team of litigators and contribute to the firm's growth," said Johnson. "Merging with the firm's all-star attorneys gives KBS an advantage by offering commercial real estate litigation, as well as expertise in joint ventures and partnership agreements."

Johnson and his team represent family-owned companies and large institutional clients in the acquisition, sale, development, and financing of a variety of real estate assets, including retail centers, office buildings, multi-family developments and industrial space. He has represented large, public corporations and privately held, small to mid-cap companies, advising on transactions and disputes with a particular focus on commercial real estate matters.

Additionally, Johnson has particular experience in joint venture and partnership agreements, including the setup and restructuring of debt and equity investments, and has acted as borrowers' counsel on institutional commercial loan transactions. He also has extensive experience in litigating real estate-related claims, including actions by lenders and borrowers, as well as complex disputes between fractional owners, such as tenants in common and members of limited liability companies or partnerships. Currently, Johnson is handing a complex, ongoing partnership dispute of more than $50 million in real estate assets involving offshore and domestic partnerships.

Prior to joining KBS, Johnson was a name partner and Head of the Litigation Department at Carico Johnson Toomey LLP. He obtained his J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and obtained his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Davis' practice focuses on business and real estate litigation, representing individuals in disputes regarding management and ownership of closely held companies. He also litigates commercial tenancy disputes, ownership disputes regarding the right to partition, as well as assisting clients with the transfer of property. He obtained his J.D. from USC's Gould School of Law.
